The Parameter Type administration maintenance document is used to establish and maintain numeric codes and textual description values which are stored in database tables. This data serves as reference information that is made available for display and selection in various areas of the system, including other e-docs. The parameter type broadly defines what a parameter is used for. In the KC base data there are only four parameter types: parameters used for Help configuration (online help topic URLs), parameters used for Authorization, parameters used for document validation (such as business rules) and parameters used for System Configuration (customizing KC for your institution). The Parameter Type document allows you to create new or edit existing parameter types. Code must be developed to support any additional types or changes to existing types.
