The Maintenance menu is accessed by clicking the Maintenance menu tab that is located in the header area of any KC screen.
Purpose: It’s general purpose is to provide access to maintenance documents (also referred to as “Reference Documents” or “Maintenance E-Docs”), which are electronic documents that provide a user interface into reference tables that allow you to create and maintain information that is referenced by other e-docs (and even other maintenance documents) in KC. Think of them as a “web front end” to the back end database, which facilitates ease of maintaining numeric codes and textual descriptions of various types of information – all from a convenient online form with editable fields. These values, which are often subject to change, are then available for lookup and selection elsewhere in KC.
Groups: The Maintenance menu screen is comprised of the following six menu groups: Shared, Miscellaneous, Proposals, Awards, Compliance – Conflict of Interest, and Compliance.

These six groups contain links to maintenance e-docs (a.k.a. maintenance documents) categorized by functional modules. Shared group links are links to maintenance documents that are shared by more than one functional module. Miscellaneous group links are links to maintenance documents that do not logically fit in with the modular functional groups.
This topic is meant to provide a simple “overview” of the Maintenance menu. A much larger, more detailed topic on this menu exists elsewhere in this documentation set – and a cross-reference to it is provided below for your convenience.
