Functional Modules Overview

In addition to the technical system modules, workflow and search-related capabilities, Kuali Coeus has various functional e-docs that are used to accomplish research administration work.  They rely on maintenance e-docs for searchable/selectable reference information used to fill them out prior to being submitted.  These functional e-docs are designed and built according to groups of related pieces of functionality which correspond to business tasks and events in the various phases of research administration work.  As of release 3.1, these modules include:

Proposal Preparation and Submission:  Also known as the Proposal Development module, included are e-docs for the following functions:

      Proposal Development

      Budget

      Institutional Proposal

      Intellectual Property Review

      Proposal Log

Modules & The User Interface Design:  The KC User Interface (UI) has been thoughtfully designed to organize access to modular functionality by way of menu groups on user-specific screens.  This modular layout follows the logical progression of the various stages of research administration work.  Where possible, this documentation also follows the same general organization principles.

Modules that are technically established in the KC 4.0 system to correspond to Coeus project module codes are:
