Argument Value

 

The Argument Value maintenance document is used to establish and maintain numeric codes and textual description values which are stored in database tables.  This data serves as reference information that is made available for display and selection in various areas of the system, including other e-docs.

Caution About Modifying Existing Values:  Existing values can be edited as long as the description is synonymous with the original term. New values can be added. You should not delete existing values.

Edit Arg Value Lookup Section

The Edit Arg Value Lookup section of the Argument Value maintenance document is a unique section that allows you to specify and maintain the details associated with the reference table record in fields.

Field

Description

Arg Value Lookup Id

Required.  Enter a numeric value to uniquely identify this record in the system.

Argument Name

Required.  Enter text for the argument as it is commonly referred to for this Arg Value Lookup Id (for example, human_subjects).

Value

Enter an alphanumeric value to be associated with the argument.  Click the add note  icon to view/edit/paste text in a new browser window, then click the continue button to return to the text entry field in the document.

Description

Type to enter a longer textual description of the purpose of the of the argument value lookup ID.  Click the add note  icon to view/edit/paste text in a new browser window, then click the continue button to return to the text entry field in the document.
