Federalwide Assurances (FWAs)

Under
the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) human subjects protection
regulations at 45 CFR 46.103, every institution engaged in human subjects
research supported or conducted by DHHS must obtain an assurance of compliance
approved by the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP). Indiana University, Clarian Health Partners,
and their affiliates are institutions that engage in human subjects research
supported by DHHS and thus hold such an assurance (hereafter know as an FWA).
Following is a list of all related assurances, along with
a list of their components and their current expiration dates. Please be aware that, depending upon where your
research is being conducted, you may need to reference multiple assurance
numbers.
